Independent senator from Vermont Bernie Sanders announced he entered the 2020 race for the White House.
His 2016 presidential campaign included Medicare-for-All, a $15 an hour federal minimum wage, tuition-free college and demands to combat climate change more aggressively and tax the wealthy at a higher rate.
In his interview on CBS, Sanders said, “We’re gonna win. We are gonna also launch what I think is unprecedented in modern American history and that is a grassroots movement to lay the groundwork for transforming the economic and political life of this country. That’s what’s different.”
The 77-year-old Democrat is the most popular senator among constituents in America and consistently ranks among the top potential 2020 candidates in early polls.
