A private search company found the fragments of the Piper PA-46 Malibu on board of which the Argentinean striker Emiliano Sala flew to Cardiff.
Rescuers found the plane of the missing Argentine footballer Emiliano Sala at the bottom of the English Channel. A terrible news has been already reported to the families of the player and pilot of the aircraft David Ibbotson.
Father of the striker Horacio Sala said that he still could not accept the truth.
‘I cannot believe this. It is like a bad dream. I’m desperate. I communicated with search team every day,’ said the man to the Argentine television.
Sala became a Welsh ‘Cardiff’ player by moving to the British club from the French ‘Nantes’. On January 21, the striker said goodbye to his former partners in the French team and set off on a private jet to Wales.
The unfortunate flight was supposed to last only 50 minutes. The football player departed from Nantes at 8.15 pm local time and at 8.30 pm the connection with the aircraft was lost. Two helicopters and several rescue ships were sent to search for the player. The reason of the tragedy is still unknown. Only two people were on board: a football player and a pilot.
Fans of the famous footballer offer condolences to the family and continue to hope for the best.
” He will return, because everything is possible, the main thing is to believe!”
“Father in the mighty name of Jesus, I say this prayer in faith that your son’s emiliano Sala and pilot David ibbotson are safe and sound wherever they are on earth, protect them and let them be found soon, disappoint the counsel of the enemy and cast sorrow on whoever planned this attack. Thank you Lord for answering the prayers. In Jesus mighty name I have prayed. Amen “
“Rest In Peace Emi. You will always be remembered. Can’t believe a young and healthy man like you is just gone! “
“Well I guess he is presumed dead now that the plane has been found…I can only offer some words of condolence during this fateful period…only his family know what they are going through at the moment.”
” I’m so so devastated. I have no words . What you did on this earth what you should have continued to do.”
French World Cup star Kylian Mbappe has donated $34,000 to a crowdfunding campaign launched to finance a private search mission in the hope of finding missing soccer player Emiliano Sala.
The discovery of the crash site of the Piper Malibu plane was announced by shipwreck hunter and marine explorer David Mearns, who led the search. The find will hopefully bring closure to family and fans of Sala and his pilot, David Ibbotson, ending the story that rattled the whole football community. Mearns tweeted: “Wreckage of the plane carrying EmilianoSala and piloted by David Ibbotson was located early this morning by the … He said the search was being carried out “in close coordination” with the AAIB. The plan was to cover an area of about four square nautical miles over three days. Mearns and his team had been confident.
Underwater video footage shows one body visible among the mangled metal, the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) said.
However, investigators have not yet confirmed if the body belongs to 28-year-old Sala or his Brit pilot, Dave Ibbotson, 59.
The downed Piper Malibu was located near Alderney after state-of-the-art side-sonar kit scoured the seabed.
Leading the search was shipwreck hunter David Mearns with his Morven vessel and the AAIB’s own ship.
A ROV robot was then sent down to the seabed to identify the remains, on Sunday morning.
