Scholars from Ohio State University have revealed that the ice of Greenland is melting much faster than expected. We have problems with the region of the island, which previously was not even considered potentially dangerous. Southwest Greenland is losing ice most of all.
The reason for this is the bad impact of humanity on the Earth leading to an acceleration of warming in the atmosphere. Since 2003, its melting rate has quadrupled. It increases sea level, which is extremely dangerous. Thus, over the 20th century, the sea level rose by 14 centimeters, which is directly related to global warming, without which this figure would be at least two times lower. Sea level began to rise sharply after the end of the Little Ice Age and with the onset of the industrial revolution in the 19th century.
Talented physicist Stephen Hawking stated that humanity in 100 years might die because of the unbearable heat caused by global warming. If climate change continues, the scientist is confident that the Earth will resemble Venus. Humanity will have to look for a new home soon.
