Macedonia will sign an arrangement to conjoin NATO on Wednesday under the new name Northern Macedonia after the parliaments in the tiny Balkan country and its southern neighbor Greece approved the historic name modification arrangement.
The NATO Secretary General said today that on February 6 we will write a story: NATO Associates will sign an agreement on addition to the future Republic of Northern Macedonia together with the (Macedonian) Foreign Minister.
The ceremony will be held at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
Greece for three decades vetoed Macedonia’s accession into NATO as of a name dispute, saying that the name of Macedonia indicates territorial claims to the northern province of Greece.
Macedonia hopes that Greece will become the first NATO member to approved the addition protocol. Then she will start calling herself by her new name.
