Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said during a speech before the Supreme Court that he intends to hold office until the end of his term.

Maduro stressed that he swore an oath of office as leader of the country until 2025. He also noted that in his position he is assisted by “civil society and the military.

“I ask that justice be done in Venezuela, that there be peace, that the social state be respected,” Maduro said.

He concluded that “justice” will help preserve the “republic and homeland”.
Previously, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arresa spoke about the motives for the U.S. to participate in the political crisis in Venezuela.
