According to Italian media, British and French skiers are among the three people detected dead after the snowslip descended near the Italian resort of Courmayeur.

Rescuers detected three bodies and are looking for a fourth skier.

A total of eight people, take in a Belgian snowboarder, died in Italy as a result of weekend snowslips.

Rescue operations were also obstructed by the continued risk of snowslips, which impeded search teams from moving on foot, and the search work had to be temporarily ceased on Sunday.

Locals claimed that several residents of Italy were killed at the weekend.

The National Mine Rescue  Team called on snow lovers to check which level of snowslip warning is in effect every day and to use maximum caution.
