The total number of forces at the border will increase to about 4,350 military men.
The US Department of Defense decided to send an additional 3,750 soldiers to the south-western segment of the border with Mexico to support the staff of the US Customs and Border Protection.
‘This will increase the total number of forces on the border to approximately 4,350 military personnel,’ said a Pentagon spokesman.
From this statement it follows that the number of military at the border will increase about seven times. Additional military units will be deployed at the border for 90 days. In addition to military personnel, mobile surveillance systems will be deployed at the border, as well as 240 km of barbed wire between inspection points.
As it was reported earlier Trump said earlier that he still intends to build a wall on the border with Mexico with or without congressional approval.
